Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Thank you for choosing this journal for the submission of your manuscript. In order to preserve the structural consistency of published articles and to maintain the required scholarly standards, compliance with the following guidelines is essential. The journal’s peer-review and editorial processes are conducted in accordance with these requirements. Careful adherence to them will facilitate and expedite the evaluation and publication process.
All procedures related to submission, tracking, and publication are conducted exclusively through the journal’s online system to ensure proper record-keeping and transparency. Authors must register via the journal’s website, create a username and password, and follow the system’s instructions to submit and track their manuscript.
Given the high volume of submissions, the importance of reflecting diverse scholarly perspectives, and compliance with the Ministry of Science and the Commission for Specialized Journals regulations regarding geographical diversity of authors from various universities, the journal will publish only one article per author in each publication cycle (two issues), whether as corresponding author or co-author. Furthermore, while an author has a manuscript under review and until a final decision (acceptance, rejection, or withdrawal) has been made, no new submission from that author will enter the review process.
In light of the academic standing and ranking of the Journal of Fiqh, Law, and Media Studies, only research-oriented manuscripts containing original legal analysis relevant to the journal’s scope will be considered for evaluation.
The journal publishes research, review, and promotional (scholarly dissemination) articles.
The journal reserves the right to determine the category of the article (research, review, or promotional) based on the opinions of the reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief.
By submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Fiqh and Media Law Studies, the author grants the journal the right of publication.
Manuscripts must reflect the original research and analytical work of the author(s).
The presence of a novel and impactful idea within the specialized field is a primary criterion for entering the evaluation process.
Submitted manuscripts must follow a systematic methodology and employ recognized scientific methods for data analysis.
The journal does not accept translated works or manuscripts consisting solely of compilation.
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will not be accepted.
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the content, sources, opinions expressed, and for respecting the rights of other authors and researchers.
Authors must exercise great care when entering names and affiliations. The order of authors and the designation of the corresponding author cannot be changed under any circumstances.
The views and opinions expressed in published articles are solely those of the authors, and publication does not imply endorsement by the journal. The quarterly journal reserves the right to accept, reject, edit, or abridge submitted manuscripts.
At least one of the authors must be a faculty member or hold a Ph.D. degree from a recognized domestic or international university or research center.
The journal may publish manuscripts submitted by authors who are at least Master’s degree students (Level Three seminary students), provided that the manuscript successfully completes the scientific evaluation process.
Authors must submit, along with their manuscript, a completed Conflict of Interest Form and an Author Commitment Form confirming the originality of the manuscript, that it has not been published in whole or in part elsewhere, and that it has not been submitted simultaneously to other journals.
In a separate Word file, authors must provide their full names, academic ranks, institutional affiliations, postal and email addresses, telephone numbers (landline and mobile), and clearly identify the corresponding author. Since an ORCID iD is required as a unique identifier for each author, the correct ORCID must be included in the author information file according to the provided template.
Please refrain from using titles such as Dr., Eng., etc.
Two separate files must be uploaded:
The main manuscript file (without authors’ names).
A file containing the authors’ names and details.
Because the main manuscript file is sent to reviewers, author identification must not appear anywhere in the main text.
Authors must carefully enter their names and details in the system. The order of authors and the corresponding author designation cannot be changed under any circumstances.
The article title must be concise and informative, provided in both Persian and English.
The manuscript length must be between 4,500 and 8,000 words.
Structurally, the manuscript must include, in order: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Main Text, Conclusion, Recommendations, and References.
The Persian abstract must not exceed 250 words and should include the topic, problem statement, main findings, and keywords. Keywords must range from three to five terms.
The English abstract must correspond exactly to the Persian abstract.
The English abstract must be accurately translated. The use of machine translation tools such as Google Translate should be avoided.
Order of Headings (Very Important)
The manuscript must strictly follow this structure:
Problem Statement
Literature Review and Research Methodology
Literature and Research Findings
Discussion and Conclusion
Recommendations
References
Four separate files must be uploaded through the manuscript submission system:
Main manuscript file (without author names)
Author information file
Conflict of Interest form
Author Commitment form
All files must be submitted in the specified format through the journal’s submission system.
Article Template Form (Click Here)
Explanations and English equivalents of names and technical terms must be provided in the footnotes of each page. Footnote numbering should restart from 1 on every page.
As far as possible, use approved and commonly accepted Persian equivalents for foreign terms and names. For necessary and uncommon foreign names or nonstandard Persian equivalents, provide the Latin equivalent only at the first occurrence, immediately after the term, as a footnote at the bottom of the same page.
A period must follow footnote numbers (both Persian and Latin). Example:
Books …
The main text of the article must be typed in BMitra 13 font, and the article title in BTitr 14 font. Internal headings must be bold.
Persian footnotes must be typed in BMitra 10, English footnotes in Times New Roman 9, and the English abstract in Times New Roman 9.
Each figure (including charts, graphs, maps, etc.) must have a number and caption. Figures do not have separate numbering categories; they should be numbered consecutively starting from 1. The caption must be centered below the figure in B Mitra, 10 pt.
Figures may be in color or black and white. They must be inserted within the text immediately after they are first referenced. Units of measurement must be clearly indicated in figures. All figures must be referenced in the main text.
Ensure that numbers, labels, quantities, and legends in figures are large enough to remain clear and legible after publication. If a figure is inserted as an image (software output), it must be of high resolution. Preferably, the original editable file of the figure should be embedded in the manuscript.
Leave one blank line before and after each figure. Figures must be centered horizontally on the page, similar to tables.
Each table must have a number and title (caption), centered above the table in B Mitra, 10 pt, and numbered consecutively starting from 1.
Tables must be inserted in the text immediately after their first reference.
Column headings must be centered (B Mitra, 10 pt, bold). Persian text within tables should be right-aligned or centered depending on content length (B Mitra, 10 pt, regular). Latin text should be left-aligned (Times New Roman, 8 pt).
All numbers in tables must be written in Persian numerals and centered. Units of measurement must be specified.
Leave one blank line before and after each table. If a table is reproduced from another source, the reference must be cited at the end of the table title according to APA style.
The table title or figure caption must not be embedded within the image itself; it must appear outside the figure/table to allow formatting according to journal style. The source of the figure must be specified (e.g., research findings, author’s calculations, or cited source with year and full reference).
Use numbers followed by a period for numbering.
Do not leave a space before punctuation marks (period, comma, semicolon, colon, question mark, exclamation mark, etc.); leave one space after them.
When using parentheses, leave one space before the opening parenthesis and one space after the closing parenthesis. The word inside the parentheses should not be separated from them.
Use a half-space (zero-width non-joiner) in compound words and certain verbs (e.g., انسانها، میرود، تصمیمگیری). In Microsoft Word, create a half-space using Ctrl + Shift + 2.
Write the word “percent” instead of using the symbol (%). Example: 25 percent.
According to the latest guidelines of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, avoid using “هی” and use the hamza form “ۀ” where required.
Foreign-language references must follow the same citation style as Persian references.
In English references, write authors’ surnames in full and indicate first names only by their initial capital letter.
Specialized sources such as court decisions, statutes, and case files should be cited as footnotes on the relevant page.
This journal follows the APA in-text citation style. After quoting or paraphrasing, include the author’s surname, year of publication, and page number in parentheses.
