Electoral debates have been held in five presidential elections since 2009, and candidates have been able to use this important tool of electoral propaganda to present a glimpse of their personalities, proposals, plans, and criticism of the opinions expressed by other candidates in the context provided by the Iranian Broadcasting Organization. Considering the subject of the article, the question is based on “What are the media rights governing electoral debates in the national media?” Here, an attempt has been made to analyze the existing propositions using a descriptive-analytical method. The purpose of raising this issue is to consider the basic issues for the appropriate and desirable quality of electoral debates from the perspective of media rights. Based on the results of the research, the three areas of candidates, voters, and the organizing organization (Radio and Television) are considered important, influential, and active elements of the presidential election. In addition to enumerating and enumerating their rights, including freedom of speech, presenting authentic documents to the nation by candidates, and the right to easy access to useful information about the debates for voters, the organizing organization is responsible for duties such as not deleting or interrupting the audio and video during the live broadcast of the debates, which are mentioned in this article.
